Members who are maintain their membership for 6 consecutive months will earn 10 FREE credits. That is a $125 value! Those free credits never expire. Members can save them to apply those extra credits to a larger project in future months. After 12-consecutive months of membership, a second 10 FREE credits will be applied to the member's account. HOW DOES THE RESERVE MEMBERSHIP WORK?

Members have a menu of premium services to select from each month. Each premium service has an assigned “credit” value. In a world that often demands radical change in an instant, one can discover an ironic truth: small steps can lead to big results. In August 2024, Team NEO requested I create a comprehensive case study on the work we’ve done with DHL Express and the Global Aviation Fuel Optimization Program. The goal is to show how incremental change management can drive significant results without disrupting daily operations.Since 2020, we achieved significant reductions in DHL’s carbon footprint across their global network with an annual goal of 2% in fuel burn and carbon emissions avoidance. Starting with just 6 standard operating procedures (SOPs) and 13 participating airlines out of 88 airlines in their network, our strategy focused on performing standard processes more effectively rather than implementing radical change. We are now at 11 SOPs, 16 participating airlines and the incremental improvements are accelerating as the scale of the operation increases. The result? An over-performing 2.5% annual reduction in fuel burn and carbon emissions.This approach isn't just about numbers; it's about creating a culture of continuous improvement.

By embracing incremental change, we fostered an environment where every small win is celebrated because we recognize it contributes to the aggregate results. The Flight and Ground Operations teams have become more engaged, innovation has flourished, and sustainability is now rooted in daily operations.The lessons from this case study can be applied to Team NEO's 5-year strategic plan for the Northeast Ohio Region and a Vibrant Economy Indicators 2030 program to "Bend the Curve." An incremental change management strategy will allow partner economic development organizations to maintain their current structures and missions with a focus on improving the KPIs that match up with those established in the VEI Dashboard. This should minimize resistance and maximize buy-in from stakeholders.The key to any mission critical strategic objective is to be bold. Set out a bold vision with a well defined WHY statement so partners, funders, stakeholders, and the general public understands the motivation for these bold decisions. VEI 2030 and Bend the Curve can be a bold strategic objective, even with a chosen path of incremental change. The case study included here proves that even small initial steps will accumulate into a significant impact.
